Would that be Mrs. and Mr. Wonder Woman?

I was alerted to this article from a mailing list that I'm on, which talks about a man in Japan who is trying to make marriage between humans and cartoon characters legal.

These are my favorite quotes.

"I am no longer interested in three dimensions. I would even like to become a resident of the two-dimensional world," he wrote.

"For a long time I have only been able to fall in love with two-dimensional people and currently I have someone I really love," one person wrote.

I know that people have fantasized about various cartoon characters, like Betty Rubble and Wilma Flinstone and Josie and the Pussycats, but I'm wondering what kinds of benefits they think they would get by actually marrying one of them.

Also, who gets to decide which person gets to marry a particular character? What if 500 people want to marry Supergirl? She can't marry all of them because then she'd be a bigamist. How do they decide which person should be allowed to marry her? Who signs the marriage license on behalf of Supergirl?

Supergirl would actually be a major polygamist if she married all of those people without getting divorced between marriages.

I would have married Speed Racer when I was a little girl, but I got over that.

Sounds like someone needs therapy.
