Johnny Carson Park in Burbank

Last Saturday, we had occasion to be in Burbank, but we were early, so we ended up driving around to kill some time. The husband saw the sign for Johnny Carson Park, right near NBC Studios, so we decided to check it out. One odd thing we discovered is that to get to the designated parking lot for the park, you have to drive through part of a section of a private religious school to get to said parking lot.

The park was actually quite nice, with lots of nice scenery. Several groups of people were taking advantage of the nice backdrop with semi-formal picture-taking sessions. One party of three (man and woman and photographer) looked to be taking what seemed to be engagement pictures.

There's a little stream that runs through the middle of the park, and there's naturally a playground as well, with a bench referencing "The Tonight Show".

We found the sign for the park, but I didn't like it much because it looked too much like a grave marker to me.

According to a plaque on the sign, it seems that the park was dedicated to Johnny when he left "The Tonight Show".

There's parking on a couple of adjacent side streets as well if you don't want to have to drive through the school to get to the official parking lot. Here's the location of the park on Google Maps.
