"Quarantine" - movie trailer

A couple of weeks ago when we were at the movies (I forget which movie we were seeing that day - maybe "Hellboy II - the Golden Army"), there was a particular trailer being shown that got my attention. The trailer was for the film "Quarantine", which is apparently a remake of "Rec", a 2007 movie from Spain.

Here's what the film is about.

Television reporter Angela Vidal (Carpenter) and her cameraman (Harris) are assigned to spend the night shift with a Los Angeles Fire Station. After a routine 911 call takes them to a small apartment building, they find police officers already on the scene in response to blood curdling screams coming from one of the apartment units. They soon learn that a woman living in the building has been infected by something unknown. After a few of the residents are viciously attacked, they try to escape with the news crew in tow, only to find that the CDC has quarantined the building. Phones, internet, televisions and cell phone access have been cut-off, and officials are not relaying information to those locked inside. When the quarantine is finally lifted, the only evidence of what took place is the news crew’s videotape.

What immediately struck me is that it's the first film I've seen using the hand-held, someone-in-the-movie-is-documenting-things-that-are-happening-but-mysterious-things-ensued-and-we-would-never-have-known-about-it-otherwise device since the release of "Cloverfield" in January of this year. So my first thought was, oh, someone's finally gotten around to copying that film. But then I found out the film is a re-make of a 2007 film that apparently used the same device. Hmmm, so maybe both are copying "The Blair Witch Project", which I never saw but which had the same hand-held, footage-found-later gimmick.

Here's the link to the trailer for "Quarantine".

In any case, while I'm interested in knowing what happens during the course of the movie, it's entirely too frightening for me to watch, so I'll be relying on moviespoilers.com.
